The NBA Finals

After 6 1/2 hours of bidding on about 5 different ticket sites, I scored 2 tickets to Game 6 of the Cavaliers v. Pistons series. I wanted to take my Dad, a big Cavs fan, to the game for a Father's Day gift. The game was AWESOME! The whole atmosphere of the city and arena was very energetic. We would have had a better view by watching it on the tv in the comfort of our owns homes, but it was a once in a lifetime event. How great is it to say that we were at the game the Cavs clinched to go to the Finals for the first time in club history. The fans were crazy and it was the loudest game I had ever been too. The one thing that killed the mood was the malfunction of the shot clock and scoreboard. It was out for the entire 2nd quarter. For some reason it just took the fans AND players out of the game. Oh, and we had three or four drunks that kept getting up to either; a) go get a drink, or b) go to the bathroom from the drinking. I wish there was a two drink minimum at sporting events. That way people wouldn't be idiots and ruin it for people just trying to watch a basketball game. Plus, they all usually drive home...smart people :(

Anyways, from the chants of: "beat Detroit," Detroit sucks," "Let's Go Cavs," and "Boobie" the crowd was constantly helping will the team to victory. Daniel Gibson was amazing for a rookie. 5 for 5 in 3 pointers and 7 for 9 overall shooting...unbelievable. The game was physical, like it should have been for a win or go home game. Rasheed Wallace was his "usual" self. Double technical ejection and had to be held back by his teammates :) The trophy ceremony was a sight for sore eyes. Watching Lebron James hold that trophy up was a longtime coming. What a team, what a game. Can't wait for the Finals on Thursday night. Pretty cool father/son night watching the biggest game in the history of my favorite team.
